At Twin Ponds, we pride ourselves in our elegant event venue for weddings and banquets. With our experienced background we know that planning can become stressful for the bride or the banquet planner. So every Wednesday we’ll be posting some tips and tricks for your special occasion!
Although I’ve never succeeded in making them turn out beautifully by my DIY efforts, pressed flowers are so gorgeous when done by someone who actually knows what they’re doing! If you like the idea of including them in your decor, here are the sweetest ways to add pressed flowers to your wedding day.

On Your Desserts

What’s sweeter than cake? Pressed flowers on cake. How about pressed flowers on cookies? I’d definitely have at least two! If you’re a fan of favors, consider gifting guests lollipops filled with edible pressed flowers. How fun!

Table Numbers and Escort Cards

“Including pressed flowers in your wedding design can add whimsy and personality to many different facets of your day.  Consider adding pressed flowers to your invitation suite, making sure you work with your floral designer to ensure that the pressed flowers you choose will also appear in fresh form on your wedding day,” says Amy of Gather Design Company.

She adds, “Using pressed flowers to dress up your day of paper goods is another great option – imagine the delight of your guests when they see pressed flowers on each menu when they sit for dinner!  For an elevated take on place cards or table numbers, consider including pressed flowers between sheets of thick acrylic.”
Erin of Plum Sage Flowers remarks, “A beautiful way to utilize pressed flowers in wedding decor is to incorporate them into the escort card and table numbers at the reception. This is a beautiful, delicate detail that will ensure this aspect of your decor is unique.”
If you want your guests to have a larger “take home” from the wedding, give them a framed press flower escort card. It can decorate their hallway tables, mantle, or side tables!
Susan of Peony and Plum shares this gorgeous use of pressed flowers in a glass table number. How darling!

In Your Hair

This one of a kind pressed flower barrette from Pressed Flower Jewelry would be such a sweet statement in a half up, half down hairstyle.

The Most Amazing Photo Backdrop

This large framed piece of pressed flowers by Singular Assortment got me thinking of how amazing it would be to have an even larger version for a photo backdrop. You could commission someone to make it for you or create your own. If a full head to toe backdrop sounds too overwhelming, opt for a backdrop meant to be photographed with people from the waist up.
